What is Talented
Talented is a mobile app for learning music theory in a simple, structured, and engaging way. You can train musical hearing and interpret sheet music. The app is available on both iOS and Android.
Who is it for
The app is designed for a wide range of users. It adapts to each user’s level and offers different learning paths so that everyone can progress at their own pace. It supports absolute beginners who have never seen a musical note, as well as experienced musicians who already understand chords, progressions, and rhythms, and want to improve their skills.
The app focuses on developing core musical skills — such as rhythm, ear training, music theory, and overall musical understanding, which are essential at any level.
Talented also fits different types of learners. It works well for both children and adults, for self-learners and music school students.
Gamification keeps the process engaging, competition lists add motivation, and a personalized AI teacher adapts to each user, making learning effective for different ages and learning styles.
It supports people who want to learn an instrument or sing, as well as those who aim to create music, such as producers, band members, and music engineers.
Talented mission
We believe everyone can learn music. Musical skills are not always something you are born with — they are developed through the right method, patience, and consistent practice. So our mission is to prove that everyone can become Talented.
Learning approach
Music learning has three main interconnected areas. Progressing in one area helps you progress in others:
Music theory - fundamental music understanding, notes, tones, and harmony. When mastered, it not only gives you the ability of music reading and writing, but also helps to memorize and replay musical materials. It’s a large field; mastering it can take time, but building a base understanding is quite accessible and is essential for musicians at any level.
Basic musical abilities - the ability to hear notes and harmonies, sense and maintain rhythm, and read sheet music quickly. Some people are naturally more gifted in this field, some are less. But nonetheless, those skills are attainable. They require a lot of patience and time, but once they’re mastered, they always pay off, greatly enhancing both the quality of performance and the musician’s overall quality of life.
Instrument proficiency is the ability to directly produce sounds, pouring the soul, emotion, and meaning into it. It is the domain of expressing musical talent and connecting the musician and the listener. We leave the development of this skill — playing the instrument itself — outside the app, for work with a teacher who can guide you, ensure proper hand positioning, and oversee the countless nuances and techniques of sound production.
Talented was created to help music lovers with the first two points: music theory and basic musical abilities. To help you master them, we have two sections: Learning Path, and Talent Gym.
We understand that learning music theory and developing musical skills isn’t always the most exciting or engaging activity. The main challenge is staying focused. Without focus, there’s no progress, and time is wasted. That’s why we’ve designed the material as short lessons, each lasting 1–3 minutes.
The key principle is consistency. It’s better to practice for 3 minutes every day with full focus than to spend 60 minutes twice a week while your mind wanders. For optimal results, we recommend practicing 10–20 minutes daily, but even just 3 focused minutes is infinitely better than nothing.
At Talented, we recommend developing all the areas described above in balance. A musician who is well-rounded across these three areas is the kind of artist people say “has immense talent.” Such a musician easily impresses others, but more importantly, they feel confident, navigate any situation with ease, and enjoy a truly high degree of freedom in musical expression — a feeling like no other. Today, this level of development is more accessible than ever with Talented, combined with patience and consistent practice.
Progress in music is never linear. Sometimes it may feel like you’ve hit a plateau, but that’s not the case, every focused minute you spend practicing moves you forward. To make progress more visible and motivating, the app uses gamification, a clear sense of achievement, a personalized virtual teacher, and social features like learning with friends, making the learning process more engaging and immersive.
